The broad body of my work strives to contribute an aesthetic element to contemporary evangelical theology. Exploring themes and ideas such as experiential faith, personal identity and atonement, my work asks (and works towards answering) what it means to love and glorify God in a post-everything age.
My current work emphasizes the meditative nature of repetition; indeed, to borrow a phrase from Eugene Peterson, my present pieces seem to be simply a long obedience in the same direction. Appropriating basic shapes and architecture of both a natural and abstract dimension I am interested in investigating the relationship between geometry and light as a metaphor for the life of faith.
