Much of my recent work is focused on drawing. The process involves collecting imagery from a variety of printed sources: personal photographs, sketchbooks and reference publications. I re-interpret the imagery through drawing, and sometimes combine it with immediate, iconic fantasy characters. These creations are culled from my interests, childhood experiences, and maybe even my subconscious. Often I will print on found objects and collage. These are chosen from a wide range of materials, including encyclopedias, record sleeves and book covers. I am interested in the relationships created between the background and the printed imagery, as well as the idea of defacing or changing the meaning of a found object.
